Abstract:
A programme of archaeological works was carried out during the construction of Dunmaglass Windfarm, which consisted of survey, demarcation and watching briefs. Demarcation of sites was undertaken to protect them from damage during works in their vicinity. A realignment of the substation access road and grid connection routes were designed to prevent any direct impact on known sites. Watching briefs were undertaken during ground breaking works for the haul road, a compound, the substation and its associated access road, and parts of the grid connection route .No archaeological remains were found. A field wall was partially affected during these works; however appropriate mitigation was put in place to minimise any disturbance and record the feature.
