Abstract: |
A programme of works consisting of a walkover survey and a targeted watching brief was carried out during the construction of nineteen turbines and associated infrastructure at Aikengall II Wind Farm, East Lothian. The development site was the location of a crashed World War 2 aircraft, of which two separate grid coordinates were given for a possible location. A walkover survey of the area around the supposed crash sites was carried out; however no remains of the aircraft were discovered. A targeted watching brief was also undertaken during topsoil stripping, during which no buried archaeological remains were revealed. |
