Abstract: |
Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by the National Trust to carry out a programme of historic building recording and structural watching brief at Nostell Priory Stables, Nostell, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, centred on NGR SE 4047 1740. The work was required as a condition of a planning permission granted by West Yorkshire County Council (Ref: 09/00701/FUL and 09/00705/LBC). Nostell Priory Stables are Grade I listed and comprise four ranges, set around a central rectangular courtyard. The stables are positioned to the south-east of the Nostell Priory Mansion House and set in a landscaped parkland, within the historic township of Foulby. |
