Abstract: |
Five geoarchaeological boreholes were put down to investigate the sub-surface stratigraphy of the site. A sequence of River Terrace Gravels was recorded overlain by Holocene alluvium (including Peat) capped by Made Ground. The surface of the River Terrace Gravels (the Lea Valley Gravel) and the elevation of the Peat was consistent with that recorded on sites immediately to the north and northeast. The sequence has good potential for providing a detailed reconstruction of the environmental history of the site and its environs. Further work was recommended. |
