Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological works was required by Scottish Water Specialist Service in support of site investigation works on land that is to be used for the Knock Fell Water Main Replacement Project on land 10km to the east of Stranraer. These archaeological works were designed to mitigate any adverse impact on the archaeological remains within the development area from the work. Three trial pits and four slit trenches required monitoring during this phase representing only a very small sample of the overall development area. Within these trial pits, no significant archaeological remains were uncovered. In addition, no earlier phases of the road were located underneath the existing east-west forestry track. |
