Abstract:		 An archaeological desk-based assessment and walkover survey were carried out on 20 May 2013 on behalf of Forestry Commission Scotland at Auchnagallin Lease Area, Grantown-on-Spey. The work was undertaken to establish the baseline extent and condition of any archaeological sites on the property, by recording and identifying any features that may need conservation management, and to inform forest design and operational planning. The survey identified seven previously unrecorded archaeological sites, including a Post- Medieval limekiln, quarry and dam and a possible prehistoric field system. Mitigation measures are proposed to safeguard the sites during the woodland planting.
