Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	Recording of the Castle's medieval west wall; monitoring of repairs to a small mural tower. This was built in the early 15th century almost certainly to provide accommodation for the Sheriff of Durham during visits to the Bishop. Radiocarbon dating puts the construction of the tower in the 1420s or 30s.
