Abstract:
A training excavation designed to teach local people basic archaeological skills. The excavation is located within the Outer Bailey of Nottingham Castle and aims to identify the presence and extent of any features associated with Pre Medieval, Medieval, Civil war and Post Medieval activity within the Outer Bailey and to understand the nature of that activity. It is associated with the planned redevelopment of the Castle as outlined in The Nottingham City Council Museums and Galleries Service Strategic Plan 2014-2018.
