Abstract: |
Oxford Archaeology carried out an excavation at Bushmead Road, Eaton Socon, Cambridgeshire in advance of development for residential purposes. The excavation revealed a middle Iron Age enclosure, with associated ditches and pits. The enclosure represents the remains of a small settlement, probably on the periphery of a larger settlement recorded to the north, and a small assemblage of pottery and animal bone was recovered. Environmental evidence suggests that the inhabitants of the enclosure practiced mixed farming, in an open landscape. |
