Abstract: |
Planning permission was granted by Central Bedfordshire Council for the demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new dwelling with parking and a garden on land east of 1 Pedley Lane, Clifton, Bedfordshire. Albion Archaeology was commissioned , to undertake the archaeological works. The ground reduction and excavation of foundation trenches revealed a layer of dark black grey clay silt with fragments of brick, roof tile and pottery sherds that ranged in date from the 17th to the 20th century. The layer is interpreted as a former farm yard activity layer of 20th century date. No archaeological other features or deposits were present beneath the farm yard layer. |
