Abstract: |
Archaeological watching brief during excavation of five geotechnical pits in basement of disused building. Prior to re-development of the site into a public viewing platform/artwork. The test pits were 0.3-0.5m wide and up to 0.5m deep with additional hand auguring to a depth of up to 2.0m below current basement floor level. The test pits revealed a very fine silt, most likely a flooding layer, but no archaeological features or artefacts. |
