Abstract:		 Archaeological investigations were undertaken as second mitigation following damage to the Scheduled Monument in 2011. Trial pits were excavated to determine the extent of damage caused and, additionally, to confirm the presence of internal features identified from a subsequent geophysical survey. Two trenches were excavated across the ditch of the monument to assess, characterise and date deposits within it.
