Abstract: |
Four trial trenches were excavated in an area of proposed residential development. Trenches 1 and 2 contained evidence of ridge and furrow. Trench 3 contained a linear feature (not excavated) and an ill defined deposit that appeared to date from the C19th. Trench 4, targeting various features recorded during the geophysical survey, contained two intercutting features and various prehistoric finds (a quernstone fragment, 5 flints, 23 fragments of cattle bone and 1 sherd of possible Iron Age pottery). |
