Abstract:		 Monitoring groundworks associated with installation of new gas pipe; soil strip and trench excavation. Monitoring during groundworks identified 2 wall foundations associated with now demolished parts of Witton Castle, a cobbled yard surface of probable medieval date and a garden wall and culvert of a likely post-medieval date. No artefacts were recovered.
