Abstract: |
In February 2010 Archaeological Solutions (AS) carried out a programme of archaeological investigation via 'strip, map and record' and archaeological monitoring and recording on land at Lower Woodside Farm, Woodside Lane, Hatfield, Hertfordshire (NGR TL 24862 06007). The investigation was commissioned by Peter Newson Associates Ltd and was carried out prior to construction of the two new agricultural barns. The site is located to the south-east of Woodside village, c. 2.5km south-east of Hatfield. It comprises a complex of barn buildings and a Grade II listed farmhouse. The farm is part of Area of Archaeological Significance No 49 and is also noted as an Unregistered Historic Park and Garden in the Local Plan. In the event the monitoring revealed no archaeological features or finds. |
