Abstract: |
Four trenches were opened by machine under archaeological supervision and all possible features investigated by hand. The archaeological evaluation undertaken in the south-east corner of the kitchen gardens of Blenheim Palace revealed no features or finds of archaeological interest. A series of made ground deposits were recorded overlying the mudstone natural geology and are dated between the 19th and 20th centuries. One field drain of 18th to 19th century
date along with modern services were the only features uncovered. |
