Abstract:
A Heritage Impact Assessment was carried out on land at Beaumont House, Sutton, Oxfordshire (SP 41515 06589). The site is located in the historic parish of Stanton Harcourt, and was located in the historic Hundred of Wootton and the historic County of Oxfordshire. It is currently located in West Oxfordshire District and in the modern County of Oxfordshire. The assessment was carried out in order to determine the level of impact two new semi-detached dwellings would have on Tudor Cottage, Sutton and the conservation area of Stanton Harcourt and Sutton. Tudor Cottage is a 17th century timber framed building with colour washed limestone infilling, and has recently been restored after being damaged in a fire. The majority of Tudor Cottage is hidden from view by a high garden hedge, with only the south elevation clearly visible.
