Abstract: |
Thirty-nine trenches were opened mechanically under archaeological supervision, and possible features investigated by hand. Several small pits were identified whose fills were rich in charcoal but which contained no finds. Similar features had been noted in a previous evaluation to the west and it is likely they relate to charcoal manufacture. |
