A watching brief on a series of ground works for extensions and alterations was undertaken by York Archaeological Trust.

A watching brief during ground-works at 1 Lansdowne Terrace, York, recorded 13 medieval inhumation burials probably related to the churchyard of St Edward's Church, which was demolished during the mid-late 16th century. An excavation recorded all the burials, with ten full or partial burials being lifted and the rest left in situ.

An archaeological watching brief on a residential development in Acomb, York

Two trenches were dug immediately outside this property in order to install a new water feed to the building. A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of both trenches, one in March 2009 and the second in July 2009.

York Archaeology were commissioned by Franklin Ellis Architects on behalf of Bildurn to undertake a second programme of archaeological monitoring on the land at 11-19 Station Street, Nottingham (centred on SK 5745 3926), during intrusive groundworks associated with the creation of a new soakaway beneath the development of a new office building. This programme of archaeological works was conducted between the 31st of January and February 3rd, 2022. Groundworks consisted of the excavation of a 12m x 4m x 1.5m L-shaped trench for a new soakaway located beneath a new office building built upon a 0.15ha of land, 0.5km south of Nottingham centre, that fronts onto the north side of Station Street immediately opposite the north side of Nottingham Train Station. The development site is bound to the north by Nottingham Canal and is located within the Station Conservation Area.Foundational walls associated with the demolished buildings at 11-19 Station Street were identified, as well as a mid to late 19th century backfilling deposits associated with the deliberate infilling of the West Croft canal. No Substantial structures of deposits older than the 19th century were identified during this programme of archaeological works, and no finds or features of archaeological significance were identified.

A Heritage Statement has been compiled for 212-214 Fulford Road, York, YO10 4DX (NGR SE 60870 50428) by York Archaeological Trust in order to establish the historical character and significance of the property, and to assess the subsequent impact of development works on the established significance. To inform the creation of this document a course of building recording was completed in June 2019. The work was undertaken for Barry Downing to help inform a planning application that is under consideration by the City of York Council (19/00462/FUL). The property is located within a terrace of four late 19th century villas. These Victorian villas, as well as a larger terrace of similar properties located on Wenlock Terrace to the rear, were likely constructed in relation to the nearby Cavalry Barracks and would have been upscale residences. The property itself comprises the upper floors of the mid-terrace dwellings, which have been interlinked and altered during the 20th century in order to suit its current purpose as student accommodation. The redevelopment is intended to improve the condition of the property, which has become dilapidated with areas of damp, and includes the addition of new bedrooms in a converted attic space. This report complies the documentary evidence and the results of the building recording with the current and proposed plans to ascertain the significance of the heritage asset and the impact of redevelopment on the significance therein.

Observation of eight machine excavated test pits exposing modern dumping, ploughsoils and natural sands and gravels.

This watching brief recorded deposits within a trench leading from outside 14 Agar Street into a new development off Agar Street and also a trench in the alley connecting the south-east end of Agar Street with Cloisters Walk.

Between the 22nd and 26th of September York Archaeological Trust carried out a watching brief at 144 The Mount. The works to be monitored were foundations for the erection of a single storey extension to the rear of the property. The reason for the watching brief was that the site lies within the York Area of Archaeological Importance and the conservation area of York Central Historic Core.
