Castlerigg Stone Circle - Decimated XYZ data
XYZ data from the 3D laser scanning can be downloaded below as ASCII text. For each stone of Castlerigg stone circle a file is provided which contains a decimated version of the XYZ data.
This is ASCII data that can be read into RapidForm Basis or other 3D visualisation software.
Please note: The data available here has been decimated by a factor of between 20 and 200 (see the tab delimited text file for further details). Stone 11 was scanned at a higher resolution that the other stones so had to be decimated by a factor of 500 to get the file down to a manageable size. This decimation results in a data file that is greatly reduced in size and therefore easier to disseminate and manipulate within 3D modelling software.
