Pillboxes to defend Fort Warden [see UORN 12156]. Two were at the W end and two at the E end. One has collapsed and another is completely buried by a bramble bush. Two pillboxes are unusual as they are some 8ft. high with a further 3ft. high wall around the top. Both these have embrasures for all-round defence, but there appears to be no entry from ground level, only through an opening on the roof.
