In a 60 yards stretch of a red-brick wall are 12 holes made by knocking out one or more bricks. One of the holes has a metal surround. These are undoubtedly firing loopholes. On the N side of the wall they are about 4ft from the ground, but on the S side (within 'Organic Kitchen Garden') they are at shoulder height.
