Type 22 hexagonal brick-shuttered pillbox, one of the earliest built (July-Aug. 1940). It has 5 x Turnbull mountings that were not installed until March 1941: these were removed in the early 1950s, but the pintle and holding bolts survive as they are cast into the concrete embrasures. The entrance is on the N side. [This pillbox is on MoD land]. [Recorder Cobb gives NGR - SU 76770100]
