A defence structure (faced with local stone) directly over the tunnel leading from the old gasworks under the railway line to the beach. Embrasured but made of soft local stone. Midway between north and south pillboxes [see site map].

Possible rectangular pillbox with a crumbling sandstone face facing the sea (E). It is overgrown, and its exact form is hard to make out. There appears to be one embrasure in the E face. This structure looks as if parts might fall to the public right of way below, and it might be removed as a danger.
