Circular concrete [type 25?] pillbox constructed without roof and with high level entrance and central well. Four long narrow embrasures. In very good condition. Area C/O, B. Lowry, suggests it could have had a secondary role as an LAA position.

Defence grouping Northampton anti-tank island/nodal point - Originally suggested as an anti-tank island with 17 road blocks on roads around the city. When the Northampton was redesignated a nodal point in September 1941 a number (14) of road blocks were removed and three were developed into defended localities.
