Gun emplacement (25pdr.) facing SE to cover railway crossing over River Adur [railway bridge has since been demolished]

An open backed concrete gun shelter located in open ground in the Adur Valley, with front wall 1.05m thick with wide embrasure and two splayed flank walls. The roof is 280mm thick with a 150mm diameter clay pipe built in vertically at the centre. Across the rear is a dropped beam. All built in reinforced concrete, and, apart from a small area of spalling, is in excellent condition.
