Type 28A anti-tank gun emplacement in field S of canal, with main field of fire W towards Semington Swing Bridge. Brick-shuttered, with one large embrasure and four medium-sized ones.

Rectangular part brick-shuttered anti-tank gun emplacement (type 28A). Doorway on NE side. Main embrasure faces SW. Front and side roof lines chamfered. No access as in a 'Keep Out' field, but a good view can be gained from nearby footpath. A screw picket post (for attaching barbed wire?) is in the hedgerow nearby.

Semington centre of resistance - The defences of Semington on the GHQ Blue Line. After 1940 the defences were developed as a Centre of Resistance (Nodal Point) manned by the 4th Bn. Wiltshire Home Guard. (South Wiltshire Sub Area, 1942 - PRO WO 166/6785).
