"SSARG is a voluntary organisation based in South Somerset, enabling people from all walks of life to get involved in their local history and archaeology. We carry out a variety of archaeological projects in and around South Somerset, covering periods from the prehistoric to post medieval. We welcome everyone, from complete beginners to retired professors of archaeology. Activities include excavation, geophysical and landscape survey, finds processing and post excavation work, outings, talks and workshops."
