Abstract: |
Archaeological recording carried out by Katharine Sawyer in October 2010 during the excavation of groundworks for a holiday chalet on land adjacent to Sandy Lane, Middle Town, St Martin's, Isles of Scilly. The site was excavated to a maximum depth of about 1.5m and, below the topsoil, all the layers uncovered were blown sand with dark bands, representing vegetation horizons, in them. Samples were taken by Cardiff University for OSL dating, the results of which are still awaited. No features or finds were identified. |
