Abstract:		 The archaeological investigation was commissioned and funded by Mr Simon Noblet in order to satisfy a planning requirement, attached to the granting of planning permission by Ribble Valley Borough Council to build a small conservatory to the rear of the property. The watching brief provided an opportunity to examine a small part of the Romano-British settlement (vicus) known to be located outside the north gate of the fort; the investigation however, yielded no new archaeological evidence to enhance our understanding of the locality.
