Abstract: |
An archaeological buildings survey of the group of cottages to the west of the Papple Steading, showing initial construction circa 1840 with a major phase of building and modification in the 1850s then again in the 1930s. They form part of the complete farm estate of Papple, being part of an improvement farm from the mid 19th century. Several items of graffiti were recorded, showing later occupation from Irish farm workers in the 50s and 60s. |
