Abstract: |
Eight of the excavated trenches contained archaeological remains, predominantly of a Romano-British date, and concentrated in the south western part of the site. The remainder of the site revealed no archaeological features. The site occupied a crested location some 1km to the south-east of the Iron Age hillfort at Wilbury Hill. A metal detecting survey revealed two Roman coins to be present in the central and western parts of the site, along with more recent items of metalwork. [Au(adp)] |
