Abstract: |
This is a desk-based assessment of land between the east and west of Thurnscoe, Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The report represents a detailed record to establish the nature of, and assess the impacts to the Proposed Development Area (PDA) from a proposed housing development. The report was submitted as part of a planning application to build up to 950 houses in three phases. CS Archaeology was commissioned to undertake this report by the Chevin Housing Association Ltd. The data gathering and report compilation were carried during April and May 2006. The PDA consists of two open fields and an area of 1960s semi-detached housing, north-east of Thurnscoe and west of the railway line. All the Cultural heritage resources of the PDA are non-statutory apart from the setting of a listed building and consist of: |
