Abstract: |
The evaluation included four expolartory test-pits excavted at the rear of the 15th century church to establish the cause of subsidence. The results showed the church has large stone foundations over a metre deep. cracks were seen at the west end. The northern pits discovered wide deep fooundations of kentish ragstone, possibly used as cladding/underpinning. Others showed evidence of possible earlier structures and foundations cut by later burials. |
