Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out by HRP's in-house archaeologist at the Tower of London in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The watching brief monitored the excavation of a small trench in front of the Byward Postern entrance following the detection of a number of blockages to the toilet facilities located within the area of Sally Port. The watching brief was undertaken in order to mitigate the possible effects upon the fabric of the building as well as to record and protect anything of archaeological significance. However, no archaeologically significant features were encountered. |
