Scenario 2

In Scenario 2, the channel alternative moves upward (due to accumulation of sediment) and downward (due to erosion). The pattern of channel erosion and sedimentation is base don the history of the Pomme de Terre river in south-eastern Missouri, USA, which provides an example of the behaviour of a moderate-sized river during the Holocene period.
