Description: | Interior wall of SW House |
Notes: | Wall truncated by cut of Ogham pit [1170]. There is no sign of it continuing on the opposite side of [1170] so most likely originally extending as far as the alignment of SW-NE walls 1743 & 1745 which belong to the same phase as 1161. Completely removed in 2003. Found to be an interior wall of the SW House as more narrow that the exterior walls and therefore not load-bearing. Built in a single phase with all the other walls of the SW House including 1160. Strat below (1832). Strat above [3378]. Plan number 11.15 Section no: 337, 525 |
Composition: | Flints of 10-15cm, unworked. 5 courses but not well sorted. Bonded by fine gravel and silt aggregate mix - no surviving mortar Wall faces NE-SW and is 193cm long x 62cm wide x 50cm high. |
