Notes: | Metalled gravel surface below clay. 2003: No remains of metalled surface visible on cleaning, but there was a remnant of a compact mortar base at the northern part of the baulk suggesting a make-up layer for (3296). No record or removal , but no extant evidence either. Plan no: 15.84, 15.85 Section no: 349? |
Composition: | 10 yr 3/2 Very dark greyish brown; 10yr 5/4 yellowish brown stoney/gravel with CBM measuring 2-3m x 6cm thick, containing 35-70% of sub-angular to rounded stones measuring 2-20cm. |
