Notes: | Charcoal stain is very significant stratigraphically as it reveals that gravel spread (1254) overlies the hearth pit and another gravel surface that 3310 staining has formed on. Hence hearth pit was in use between the two gravel depositions. |
Composition: | Black grey charcoal, friable charcoal. Contains 35-70% angular to sub rounded stones of 6mm-6cm. 127cm x 96cm. Vague edge definition |
