Description: | Levelling deposit |
Notes: | Levelling deposit for a floor surface placed after the original surface had-subsided or was worn away. The deposit is located in the the northern corner of Room 3, House 1. To the north east there are other more substantial deposits of the same material along the same NE-SW beam slot. The lower level of this context appears to be a yellow / green clay that was probably used to hold a gravel layer more securely in place. Strat below (5474). Strat above (5485).
