Notes:Beam slot cut containing clay fill (5968) forming three sides of a rectangle. Possibly represents a storage facility near to the hearth. It is at least a functional, structural element contributing to the use of space and utilitarian aspect of the north east house. Strat below (5968). Abutted by (5921), (5997). (5921) was excavated before the beam slot and subsequently, one edge is not as clearly defined. Plan no: 20.250 Accuracy rating - 5
Composition: Linear in plan with sharp corners forming three sides of a rectangle Extent: 1.5m long (SE side) and 0.7m (SW side); Depth: 0.1m Break of slope (top & base): sharp Straight sides with a flat base Orientation: NE-SW Contains (5968)
