Notes: | Discrete clay spread in the aisle of the timber house. Possiby part of a floor surface. Strat below white gravel (5499). Strat above a gritty surface. Cut by [3991]. Completely removed in 2005. Plan no: 22.122 Accuracy rating - 3 |
Composition: | Friable, yellow / grey sandy clay Inclusions: 5-15% stones (S-A) (S-R) (2-6cm); Occasional charcoal The clay became more dense the further from the trench it was. The north western corner was also burnt and contained more charcoal. Extent: 0.5m x 1m; Thickness: 0.02m Clear edge definition |
