Abstract:
In 1951 there was a discovery of two skeletons bearing bracelets and rings at a short-lived cliff-fall site west of Reculver Roman fort. In 1955 another skeleton with associated necklace, bracelets and ring was also found in a deep Roman pit in the cliff face. The writer eventually located twelve wells in the area. A model for the effect of coastal erosion on this type of site is proposed. `Two rings from Reculver' being from the 1951 discovery and copper alloy, are identified by Martin Henig (125--6).
