Abstract:
Rapid evaluation excavations were carried out adjacent to an area of intense Roman activity. The south-west side of the site lay in a hollow and hillwash had buried many of the features below the level threatened by construction. A series of pits, ditches and gullies of Romano-British date were found, as well as an undated inhumation, and a complex series of flint and pebble strips. Recommendations are made regarding future development. AR
