Abstract:
Observations and trial holes along the line of water-main construction revealed an apparently post-medieval ditch, three natural hollows and a pit. The Roman material found in most of the features probably represents domestic rubbish, and consists mostly of pottery dating from the late first to fourth centuries AD.
