Abstract:		 Last minute work at a site that had been all but destroyed by underground car park excavation near the sports ground of the Honourable Artillery Company (Islington) produced prehistoric, medieval, and later material. Black soils sealed medieval layers which, in turn, sealed prehistoric soil. Over 1,100 artefacts included prehistoric material, one RB tegula, medieval pot, but mostly pot and clay pipe remains from a seventeenth-century dump.
