Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Considers the long-debated issue of the transition from the Mesolithic to the Neolithic in Britain. Suggests that the polarisation of the current debate is unhelpful, and proposes a model where both incomers and autochthons had their part to play. Explores this further through the tracing of continuities across the divide in practices of hunting and gathering, and placing these alongside the demonstrable evidence for change.\r\n\r\nIncludes comments by Julian Thomas (383-384), Joshua Pollard (385-386), Arkadiusz Marciniak (387- 389), and Alison Sheridan (389-391), and a response by the authors (392-393).
