The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Summarises the findings from the excavation of a middle Neolithic mortuary enclosure at Banbury Lane, to the south-west of Northampton. The site was discovered by geophysical survey and evaluation trenching in 2010 and was excavated in 2011 by Northamptonshire Archaeology. The enclosure comprised three closely spaced concentric ditches. The entrance to the inner ditch had been blocked by an elongated pit that contained a dense mass of disarticulated human bone from at least 130 individuals; the deposit was highly selective, with its composition and the presence of gouging and chopping marks indicating that the partially decayed corpses had been dismembered elsewhere.
