Abstract:		 Reports on work which has unearthed a series of five drainage ditches dated between the eleventh and the eighteenth centuries on land held by the bishops of Worcester from the seventh to the sixteenth centuries. There are indications that the ditches were open to the sea and the scene for domestic activity from the twelfth century onwards as evidenced by the ceramic and environmental data, detailed in: `The pottery' by Rod Burchill (31--6) with Ham Green cookpots in abundance; and `The palaeoenvironmental analyses' by Julie Jones (36--46).
