Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The existence of the wooden trackway has been known for ninety years but it has not previously been studied by the full battery of specialist techniques used here - dendrochronology and beetle identifications as well as pollen and wood analyses - which have suggested modifications to some earlier theories. The construction would not support wheeled vehicles, contrary to previous belief, and although one timber had come from an older structure, most had been prefabricated for this trackway. | ||||||
